The Goal! trilogy is a series of football films directed by Danny Cannon, Jaume Collet-Serra and Andrew Morahan. The first film, Goal! , was released in 2005, and the second film, Goal II: Living the Dream , was released in 2007.
Unexpectedly getting a tryout with one of England's premier football clubs, Newcastle United, Santiago finds himself totally alone in a world where soccer is a religion and the players are treated like gods.
Und zuletzt bietet Goal! einen recht authentischen Blick hinter die Kulissen der fußballverrückten Stadt Newcastle und ins Herz des englischen Fußballs, wenngleich der geneigte Zuschauer kaum etwas über das Leben eines Fußballprofis erfährt. Fazit: Eher ein Film für Fußball-Fans als für Cineasten.
