Reportnet 3 is the new e-Reporting platform for reporting environmental and climate data to the European Environment Agency (EEA). The platform embraces the strategic goals of the European Commission's Green Deal and Digital Strategy and hosts reporting tasks on behalf of EEA and the Commission.
The European Environment Information and Observation Network (Eionet) is a partnership network of the European Environment Agency (EEA) and its 38 member and cooperating countries.
Reportnet 3.0 will be designed to work seamlessly across organisations and supports existing legal obligations (e.g. INSPIRE) and standards to assure the reuse and interoperability of data. The Reportnet 3.0 project was initiated in 2018 to be finalised at the end of 2020.
From 1 January 2021 onwards, EU country authorities are required to submit climate information using an online reporting system called Reportnet 3.0, managed by the European Environment Agency (EEA). This system facilitates the collection of data and information, as required by the governance regulation (Article 28).
Reporting directly to a database tests the feasibility of replacing the current file-based storage with a database storage platform to support the services and workflows supported by the Reportnet platform.

Reportnet is Eionet’s infrastructure for supporting and improving data and information flows. Reportnet is based on a set of inter-related tools and processes which all build on the active use of the World Wide Web.
