Das Alfred-Wegener-Institut, Helmholtz-Zentrum für Polar- und Meeresforschung (Alfred-Wegener-Institut – AWI) ist ein international anerkanntes Forschungsinstitut in Bremerhaven, das sich auf die Erforschung der Polargebiete und der ihr umgebenen Meere spezialisiert hat.
Das Alfred-Wegener-Institut ist eine Forschungs-Einrichtung. Der kurze Name vom Alfred-Wegener-Institut ist AWI. Die Gebiete nennt man: Polar-Gebiete. Dort gibt es viel Schnee und Eis.
