Abilities are a feature in Blade Ball used to give a player special powers. Some abilities can also be upgraded to make them better and more powerful. They can be obtained via Coins, the Wheel, and other unique ways. They can be used offensively or defensively, possibly both. They have a wide range of costs, with some being cheap and some expensive.
Almost all abilities have some sort of cooldown to prevent the player from being too dominant. The better the ability is, the more likely it is to have a longer cooldown.
Types of Abilities
1.Active: Activatable abilities are abilities that are activated with a right click, clicking the button, or the Q key. They are always accompanied by cooldowns upon activation. 2.Passive: Passive abilities are abilities that do not use the cooldown mechanic or are activated; they are used indefinitely until the said player dies.
What do Upgrades Do?
Most abilities are accompanied by 2 upgrades, and their costs are specific. The first upgrade is half of the cost for the ability to be unlocked, while the second is the cost to unlock. Every upgrade increases the potential of some aspects of the ability, but almost every time lowers the cooldown. Most abilities earned from events/robux cannot be upgraded. Some abilities earned from event spins can be upgraded by roll again until you get the event coins. Some abilities if upgraded will change their icon in the inventory.
How do I Get Ability Skins?
The last upgrade of an ability will always give a new skin for it, which normally is a new color. (EX: Super jump's upgrade skin are blue rays while activated).

Emotes are animated emotes which make the character perform a dance or an action. Emotes can be used by holding R. These can be equipped and edited by clicking the Edit button, and up to 8 emotes can be equipped at a time. Players are able to keep on the emote while parrying the ball.
