This Pernetiana rose has been the star of three of my gardens for the last 40 years. It's the only one I dig up and take with me when I move to a new home. The colors -- copper, orange, yellow, and pink -- are reminiscent of luscious fruit, and the fragrance is also fruity.

Herbert Clark Hoover, 31st president of the United States, was born on 10 August 1874 in West Branch, Iowa. He died on 20 October 1964 in New York City. This rose was introduced on the day Hoover was elected President in 1928.
President Herbert Hoover produces outrageously fragrant, huge blooms of softly colorful shadings . A rose definitely deserving of its fame. Tall, vigorous, and wonderful in every way. Introduced in 1930.
