The postswitch task asked them to switch by putting suns with the car target and cars with the sun target. This is not a selective attention task. The switch requires a switch in responses (which cards go where) but not a shift in attention (shape is always relevant).

1. Jan. 2011 · These results suggest that the induction of γ1 postswitch transcripts, if directed by the promoter/Iγ2a region, is regulated by IFN-γ. To perform an independent test of this idea, we amplified VDJCγ postswitch transcripts from various cDNA samples with a primer that hybridized to both Cγ1 and Cγ2a.
However, in the current study, the right inferior prefrontal regions of 2 children in the perseverative group were activated during the postswitch phase. Consequently, prefrontal activation during the postswitch phase alone may not be sufficient for successful cognitive shifting in children.
