Petra ( altgriechisch Πέτρα [ ˈpɛtʁa] „Felsen, Felsmassiv“, arabisch البتراء al-Batrā’, nabatäisch wahrscheinlich Reqmu „die Rote“), eine Ruinenstätte im heutigen Jordanien, war in der Antike die Hauptstadt des Reiches der Nabatäer.
