The STOL CH 701 offers comfortable two-place side-by-side seating in an ergonomically designed 40-inch wide cabin. The cabin interior is designed to provide comfort for two adults. Large doors on either side allow easy access to the cabin from both sides, and can be quickly removed.
The Zenith STOL CH 701 and CH 750 are a family of light, two-place kit-built STOL aircraft designed by Canadian aeronautical engineer Chris Heintz through his Midland, Ontario, based company, Zenair. The CH 701 first flew in 1986 and the design is still in production.
The STOL CH 701 uses a special airfoil design to achieve very high lift, low stall speeds, and high strength. A thick wing, full-length leading-edge slats and trailing edge Junker type flaperons develop a maximum wing lift coefficient of 3.10, while maintaining a short wing-span of 27 feet.
The modern STOL CH 701 design makes use of advanced technologies, while using proven design concepts and simple systems for easy assembly and maintenance. A professional design, the STOL CH 701's structure has undergone a complete and rigorous flight test and design stress analysis.
9. Nov. 2023 · Der populäre Bausatz-Flieger STOL CH701 hob bereits 1986 das erste Mal ab. Ganz frisch ist dagegen die neue DAeC-Zulassung mit 425,5 Kilogramm Abflugmasse, die Mitte Oktober erfolgte. Entwickelt wurde das robuste Fluggerät vom französischen Luftfahrt-Ingenieur Chris Heintz.

Dez. 2021 · At the beginning of the year, on February 6, 2021, in New Zealand, the STOL CH 701, owned and piloted by Deane Philip, took first place finish at the 2021 New Zealand Bush Pilot Championships. Deane won the national event with both the shortest take-off and shortest landing in his Zenith STOL CH 701, powered by a 130-hp Viking 130 engine.
The STOL CH 701 aircraft is built of semi-monocoque stressed-skin all-metal construction, just like modern factory-built planes, but adapted specifically for the kit builder.
