" Va, pensiero" (Italian: [ˈva penˈsjɛːro]), also known as the "Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves", is a chorus from the opera Nabucco (1842) by Giuseppe Verdi. It recollects the period of Babylonian captivity after the destruction of Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem in 586 BC.
Va, pensiero è uno dei cori più noti della storia dell'opera, collocato nella parte terza del Nabucco di Giuseppe Verdi, che viene cantato dagli Ebrei prigionieri in Babilonia. Il poeta Temistocle Solera scrisse i versi ispirandosi al salmo 137, Super flumina Babylonis.
Nabucco (Abkürzung von Nabucodonosor, der italienischen Namensform von Nebukadnezar) ist der Titel einer Oper von Giuseppe Verdi, welche 1841 komponiert und am 9. März 1842 im Teatro alla Scala in Mailand uraufgeführt wurde. Das Libretto stammt von Temistocle Solera (1815–1878).
